JoAnne has been in the investment business for more than thirty years. She completed her undergraduate work at Harvard University and also earned a Graduate degree from Bentley College in 1961. Upon graduation JoAnne conducted client quarterly reviews for a Trust Department located in Boston, Massachusetts and later worked as a public accountant for a firm in New London, Connecticut. In 1973 she joined Connecticut Investment Management, Inc. as a securities analyst and was later promoted to Vice President. In 1989, after sixteen years, JoAnne left Connecticut Investment Management, Inc. and was hired as Vice President of a Salomon Smith Barney branch office. In 1997 she joined John W. Rafal & Associates, Inc., now known as Essex Financial Services, Inc. as an Investment Executive.
JoAnne stresses long-term investing in large-cap growth companies and discourages “day trading.” She charges a management fee based on the market value of the client’s account.
