Robert E. Belknap joined Essex Financial Services, Inc. (“EFS”) as a Financial Advisor in February 2010. Prior to joining EFS Mr. Belknap was Chairman of Lawrence Capital Management, Inc. of New York City, previous to which he served as a Managing Director of Ingalls & Snyder LLC, also of New York City. Before joining Ingalls & Snyder, he was principal of Robert E. Belknap & Co., a Registered Investment Advisor and concurrently Senior Vice President of Seligman Securities, Inc.
Bob earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, having graduated from Pomfret School in 1956, served as a Line Officer in the U. S. Navy, and specialized in Finance and Investments at the New York University Graduate School of Business. He is a Deacon of the Church of Christ Congregational of Stony Creek, CT, a former Trustee of The Children’s Village in Dobbs Ferry, NY, a former Chairman of the United Hospital Fund, Brooklyn Division and a former Trustee of The Brooklyn Hospital.
Bob and his wife Mary are residents of Stony Creek, CT; they have three daughters and eight grandchildren.
